The vehicle received the official N252494001 recall oil remedy on 06/27/2025 at 15,438 miles (but suffered catastrophic engine failure and loss of propulsion at 33,661 miles on 05/30/2026).

My truck has completely shut down/ loss power on several occasions. Happened when I was l slowing down or completely stopped. Everything goes dark. Had to wait several minutes before truck would start.

Check engine light illuminated with service transmission. The next day transmission started slipping and finally would not engage in reverse. Dealership Has it now and after diagnosis they advised that they had replaced the electronic control module to which, on the test drive, the gauge cluster blacked out and they got more codes. The cpdes that the vehical threw were the transmission valve body needed to be replaced.The truck has 24k miles on it.

The front upper grille deflector detached and hit my windshield and bounced off behind me during a drive at normal highway speeds. This created a random flying debris object that appears to have been a problem with the 2022 and later Sierra 1500 models; however, the recall only appears to address the 2022 model. It also appears quite common for the 2024 year model as well. Vehicle has never been in an accident so nothing beyond typical use would have caused damaged to the connections. The plastic connectors appeared to have failed.

driving normally → brief stumble/sputter/deceleration → engine died/no power → check-engine light → vehicle coasts with no throttle response → would not restart, then restarted briefly with rough idle and immediately died. Reproduced. Towed. Dealer has not yet seen the vehicle. Inspection. No. Notification. Check engine light illuminated, truck automatically went into neutral. Safety. We were driving in traffic when problems occurred.
