MERCEDES-BENZ E 450 4MATIC 2024 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
low
My auto assist emergency braking function has triggered 3 times over the last few months with no other cars or hazzards near me. There was not warning. Each time it caused sudden unexpected severe jerking. More importantly, had there been a car behind me, it would have run into me and caused an collision. I reported this to the dealer who was unable to replicate the problem so it returned my car without a solution. I have notified MBUSA.

MERCEDES-BENZ EQS 450 4MATIC 2024 SERVICE BRAKES
high
I am submitting this report regarding a serious and potentially fatal unintended vehicle acceleration incident that occurred immediately after my vehicle was returned from repair. I originally brought the vehicle to the dealership’s body shop following a collision. The repairs included the replacement and repair of cracked grille covers, sensors, rear damage, and the rear camera system. The vehicle remained at the repair facility for approximately one month during the repair process. After finally picking up the vehicle, I drove and tested it for many miles without noticing any obvious issues. I then parked in front of a shopping center. The vehicle was fully stopped, and I shifted the transmission into PARK. After engaging PARK, I removed my foot from the brake pedal. At that exact moment, the vehicle suddenly and violently lunged forward on its own without any warning or driver input. The vehicle accelerated into a concrete pillar located less than two feet in front of the parking space. The impact was severe enough to deploy two airbags and caused a very loud, explosive sound inside the vehicle. The force of the collision shocked the interior seats and coverings, and I was left disoriented and briefly unconscious. This incident could easily have resulted in a fatality if a pedestrian or another person had been standing in front of the vehicle at the time of the unintended acceleration. I am requesting a full investigation into the cause of this sudden forward movement after the vehicle had already been stopped and shifted into PARK, especially considering the recent repair work involving sensors and collision-related components. This was an extremely dangerous incident and raises serious concerns about vehicle safety and possible malfunction before or after repair.

MERCEDES-BENZ EQS 450 4MATIC 2024 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
medium
While driving, the vehicle’s lane keeping system applied an unintended and aggressive steering input during a lane change. I was merging left when the system suddenly forced the steering sharply to the right without driver command. This was not a gentle correction—it was a strong, unexpected movement that could have caused a collision if another vehicle was nearby. In addition, the vehicle has ongoing intermittent ADAS malfunctions, including false forward-collision warnings, proximity sensors activating with no obstacles present, and Park Assist activating while the vehicle is moving on normal roads. I’ve also received messages such as “camera obstructed/visibility blocked” and “content unavailable in current vehicle position,” with ADAS features disabling themselves temporarily. These issues have occurred multiple times and continue to reappear even after several repair attempts by the dealer. Because the defects happen randomly and cannot be reliably reproduced, the vehicle feels unsafe to operate and unpredictable. The steering, sensors, and driver-assist systems do not appear to function correctly or consistently. The vehicle is available for inspection.
